West Cork Campus strives to accommodate the various educational, pastoral and social needs of all its students. As a stand alone PLC Center the College is well placed to meet students needs.

Programme Delivery

Our courses are delivered from September to May.

Student Canteen

The College has its own canteen facilities where tea, coffee and snacks are available.

Parking

Students can avail of on-site parking while they are attending classes. Additional public parking is also available nearby.

Student Identity Cards

All enrolled students will be facilitated in applying for a USIT student card which can be used to avail of student discounts.

Diary

Students are issued with a College Diary which contains a variety of useful information.

Interview Training

Students can also avail of an interview preparation service. Optional recorded practice interviews give experience of a formal interview setting and allow feedback to students.

Community Employment Links

West Cork Campus has developed strong links with local bussineses and many of our students have successfully secured employment.

Student Union

West Cork Campus has established a Student Union made up of student representatives from each course and its role is to plan and develop active student body for the Campus.

Accomodation Service

West Cork Campus will assist students with housing options should they wish to live in Skibbereen.

Additional Certification

Many courses offer additional opportunities that are related to their field of study. For example, First Aid Certification is offered to all students enrolled in Childcare and Health Care and Manul Handling is part of the Healthcare course.

The Career and Guidance Counselling Service at West Cork Campus is both professional and confidential and provides for:

Class Excursions/Work Experience

Various courses involve class excursions and all the courses have a work experience module.

Art Exhibitions

Each year, the students of Art, Craft and Design and Professional Arts Practice organise an end-of-year exhibition displaying theur year´s work.

Annual Awards Ceremony

Every year West Cork Campus hosts its Prize Giving Awards ceremony where students receive their QQI certificates. `Student of the Year´ recipients are also acknowledged on the night in recognition of their overall contribution to the college.
